Grand Hospital of Charleroi
Location : Charleroi
The hospital, designed on a human scale, avoids the monolithic character of large hospitals. The typical landscape of the valley of the Meuse and Sambre has also been used optimally. The heaps, witnesses of the rich industrial past of this mining region, have become green mountains with a specific fauna and flora.
The Grand Hospital will be installed on the heap of Viviers.
The “Nouvel Hôpital” will take its place in a 17-hectare park. The unbuilt area will therefore be converted into a park that respects and develops a logic of support through biodiversity and the green functions linked to the park, in full agreement with all stakeholders.
This hospital project will be one of the largest in our country (about 900 beds).
Start of the capture (1st phase): April 2017
